You Are Your Thoughts and Do More Of What Works
You Are Your Thoughts
For the last few weeks, I’ve been on a James Allen kick. James Allen is a late 1800s/early 1900s British Author. His books are short, straightforward, and are written in a way that feels like each sentence, if properly applied, could change the way you live your life. One of the concepts he writes about, which, for whatever reason, has really stuck with me, is the idea that you are your thoughts. The way that you speak to yourself inside your head dictates the way that you perceive and interpret the world. A negative thought leads to a negative view on the world, which leads to your reality being more negative; your thoughts determine the quality of your life. It sounds dumb and borders on cringey self-help influencer snake oil, but shifting the tone of voice inside your head and being more in control of your thoughts is probably the easiest way to improve your life. If you haven’t read “As A Man Thinketh,” it’s around 40 pages, and you can get it for $4 on eBay.
Do More Of What Works
This is just a quick jot of something that we’ve learned from building our company that is obvious but may not be intuitive. When you find something that works, do more of it. Let’s say you try out a new marketing channel that starts becoming profitable, try to find a way to double your spend while remaining profitable, then double it again, and then double it again. When you find something that works, keep investing more time and energy into it.
