Whoever Cares Most Wins
There is this common belief that most successful people in the world are the smartest. And that to become successful you have to be intelligent. While it may be true that many successful people are smart, having a certain level of intelligence will not guarantee success.
So what gives?
If being intelligent doesn’t make you successful, what does?
You see, the answer is underwhelming.
The most successful people are the ones who are the most passionate.
The ones that are obsessed with what they are working on.
Talk to anyone who is working on something they are passionate about and you can instantly tell. You see their eyes light up. You can feel their energy.
These are the types of people who are willing to forgo social status and high-paying jobs so they can focus on what they are passionate about.
Why is being passionate such a superpower?
Generally speaking, most people are not passionate.
They have no fire within them. They will never go above and beyond because they are indifferent to whether their company lives or dies. By caring and being passionate you put yourself at the highest chance of winning because you are willing to do what others won’t. You will put in the extra hours. You will think harder. You will break down walls. You will do whatever is required of you. When others throw in the towel you push harder.
Passion cannot be taught. There is no Passion 101 in College. Passion is created from the inside. No one can make you passionate. You have to make yourself passionate. You have to become obsessed.
You have to decide to care.
Once you decide to care the world unfolds before you.
