Mosaics are one of the most beautiful forms of art. Small glass pieces are assembled to create amazing landscapes, figures, and scenes. However, each individual piece of glass in a mosaic is not worth much. A singular piece of colored glass is not beautiful, it is no different than the glass you see shattered on the street outside of the rowdy bars. What makes mosaics beautiful is that when you combine hundreds of pieces of glass together things start to make sense. You see patterns and themes develop. As more and more pieces get added you are able to see in more detail and pick up things that you previously did not notice. Our lives are very similar.
Each experience that we live through, no matter if it is positive, negative, traumatic, or ecstatic, forms the mosaic of our lives. Each piece on its own does not define the entire mosaic, they are merely a piece of it. At the time, the traumatic experience you are living through may not make sense, however, once you take a step back and look at the bigger picture you will see how that piece of glass fits right in.
When you start accepting things not as good or bad but rather just as a part of the mosaic of your life it removes a lot of the unnecessary suffering. It makes your life just a bit more enjoyable.
I love this!
