Flow Like Water
Water is one of the most destructive forces on Earth. It is capable of moving hundreds of thousands of pounds in an instant, washing away entire towns, and destroying virtually anything that lies in its path. However, water also brings life. Without water, there would be no food, trees, or humans.
One of the things that best represents the power of water is the way in which it can carve out where it flows. It is able to form the rock to the path that it would like to take. We all know that water takes the path of least resistance, but it is important to remember there is still a lot of resistance.
So, what can we learn from water?
Water is patient. Water is able to accomplish amazing feats such as carving the Grand Canyon, but it does not happen overnight. Water is unrelenting and persistent.
Water is fluid. Water does not follow a straight line when carving a path. It twists and turns every which way. It is not constrained to the exact direction it set at the start. It is able to adjust the course.
Water is peaceful. The sound of water is one of the sounds most associated with tranquility. Water is able to transform any environment from one of chaos into a relaxation merely by its presence.
Let’s learn to be more like water.
