Big bold predictions for the future.
I’ve realized that there is no fun in making safe predictions.
The fun is all in making wildly outlandish predictions. These are fun because if you are right and put your money where your mouth is you tend to have a pretty nice return and if you are wrong, well they were crazy to begin with so who cares.
Although with the predictions I am about to make I am not putting my money where my mouth is, having them written down on a blog will serve as me at least getting some skin in the game.
The Metaverse. Yea I know, everyone is talking about it, but I think my perspective and my outlook on it is quite different. I believe that the metaverse has the potential to redefine the human experience. The metaverse and the technology that is associated with it has the potential to literally eliminate borders. It will be normal to have friends that live 1000s of miles away from you. However, the parts of the metaverse that I find the most interesting is the idea that it will allow people to experience parts of the world that they would never be able to go. Picture this, you walk down to a small internet cafe style place in your downtown and you go into a small room that is essentially a VR pod. You put on the goggles and boom you are experiencing a far away land. I think that technology will be 1:1 with the real world where it is indistinguishable from the actual world.
Tooth Brushes. This sounds so dumb, but think about this for a second. Every morning and every night you brush your teeth. You try really hard, but you're not quite an expert. You miss a spot, end up getting a cavity. Cavity turns into something bigger next thing you know you have a metal dental stick in your mouth and your bill is not cheap. Why on Earth are we still brushing our teeth. I think in the next 15 years brushing your teeth will be revolutionized. I think there will be some huge innovations in this space and I don't think it will be headed by Colgate. If you are building the future of dental please email me.
Towels. This is in the same vein as tooth brushes, it blows my mind that after I shower I have to use this big bulky towel. I understand that towels help you dry off but I just feel like they are so incredibly inefficient, they usually take up a ton of space to store and washing them is a huge % of washing machine. I feel like this another space ready for innovation.
The world has a ton of room for innovation, if you keep an eye out you can be the one who creates it.
