Active vs. Passive Optimism
Optimism is not created equally.
There are two main types of optimists. Passive optimists and active optimists.
It is important to understand the difference between the two.
So let’s begin.
Passive optimists are the types that believe that good things will naturally occur. They sit and hope that things will turn out well. Passive optimists don’t work to create their luck or their desired outcome. They are passive (as the name suggests). They wait for good things to happen. Most people fall into this category.
Active optimists, on the other hand, are the types that believe that good things will occur due to their efforts. Like a farmer who plants crops in the spring and harvests them in the fall. They know that if they don’t plant the crops no amount of good fortune will lead to a successful harvest. Active optimists still believe that good things will happen. They believe that if they plant their crops they will grow. They just don’t sit around waiting for good things to happen, they create good outcomes.
So why should you care?
Those who move the world forward are active optimists. Individuals who create the future are active optimists. Most great people are active optimists.
When you see that you are truly the one directing your life a whole new reality is unveiled.
You will lift back the curtain and see that the man behind the curtain is you.
Understand that you have the power to create the outcome you want.
